Our Team
OWNER, CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Dr. Samantha Smalls, DSW
My goal is to support women going through various life transitions in young adulthood who feel as if they have lost their way. I’m a mom who struggled with low self-esteem, guilt, postpartum depression and desperately tried to hold onto a loveless relationship. I have fought my way out, and I’m passionate about other women doing the same. When I think about New Chapters, I think about moving forward, not starting over. Our past is what has paved the way for our future. They are the foundation that has taught us lessons of love loss, trauma, strength, and survival. Embrace your old chapters as you continue to write your story.
THERAPIST, LACTATION CONSULTANT
Bianca Carter, LCSW, CLC
My goal is to help you transition and navigate motherhood by guiding you through each step of the process as you discover this role. My mission is to help you embrace motherhood while keeping yourself intact. My journey to concentrate on perinatal mental health started with my entry into motherhood. My interest only grew with my passion/ fascination with lactation.
Michelle Jefferson, LCSW
My goal is to not only work with everyday women such as yourself but to help you navigate the next chapter in your life. Life can sometimes make us feel out of control and turn our world upside down but as we work together, let’s use grounding techniques to help you get back to your equilibrium and get that glow back sis! Let’s challenge those negative thoughts, focus on building healthy relationships, and help you own your space.
Damara Casillas, LMSW
My goal is to build you up to live up to your potential no matter what it is you are working on. I am here to provide a new take on situations and life events providing coping and communication skills. I want to work with anyone ready or hesitant to take this next step in their lives. I am a creative person who thinks outside the box and challenges myself daily to get out of the negative mind set.
Akesha Jordan, LMSW
My goal is to assist you with bringing out your best self. It’s very easy to get caught in life’s web and not make yourself a priority. You are important to yourself, family and the people that are apart of your day to day life. We have to pour into ourselves before pouring out to others.
Tasha Weston, LMSW
My goal is to help other women through their journey in whatever trials and tribulations they may endure, or even discover the start of what adventures they would like to begin. Together we can work though any thoughts, emotions, physical feelings and or actions and develop a goal and plan to get you where YOU feel you want to be.
Kathy Turner, LCSW
We all benefit from encouragement, validation, motivation, and a safe space to voice challenging thoughts and feelings. My approach to therapy is to help clients trust and utilize their strengths while teaching new skills and strategies to better cope with life’s challenges that may result from traumatic experiences. Change is constant and can make life difficult to maneuver. I am here to help with those transitional life changes.
Chakie Whitfield, LMSW
My goal is to provide you with the tools to become the best version of yourself. Together we will work towards this objective through a unique and collaborative approach. I am here to provide an insight and a new perspective to any situations that you may be struggling with. I firmly believe that through faith and effort we can achieve any goal we set.
Christina Forrester, LMSW
My goal is to empower women who are transitioning into motherhood with the support, skills and empathy they need to overcome their current challenges. I have always had a passion for working with young women. This passion stems from my own personal experience with regard to struggling with low self-esteem, depression and anxiety. Fast forward, I am now a mom! This new found role triggered my anxiety. It took some time for me to feel like myself again. My journey towards healing was about seeking out professional and personal support, letting go of unhealthy relationships, reframing my thoughts, setting boundaries and building my self- worth. I am hopeful that in your next chapter I can assist in supporting you to do the same.
